A. L. Pomeroy purchased the interest of his partner, Guy Halsey, in the pool hall at 113 Grand Avenue in March 1912.
After the Smith & Harvey grocer vacated the Williams building, at 210 Second street, heavy remodeling took place before Pomeroy's pool hall moved from Grand Avenue into the room on Second Street during the summer of 1913. The bowling alleys were installed and operational by September 1913, managed by E. J. Stump, after he bought out Pomeroy's business interest a month earlier. The grand opening of the billiard and bowling parlor took place on Oct 21, 1913. Dan M. Cluster took over the management for the alleys in 1913 and early 1914. In September 1914, Charles Rauner buys the Brunswick pool hall and improves the pool hall and bowling alley. Numerous bowling matches took place in 1914 between Laramie bowlers. A Laramie bowling league was formed in March 1915 with eight five-man teams. Charles Rauner, moved his bowling alleys and pool room to 314 S 2nd Street as The Brunswick in August 1915. |
