Reference to the bowling alley opening in 1968 per the 1990 Polk Laramie City Directory (which is incorrect).
The inaugural Gem City Bowling Tournament was held April 1, 1977 soon after the grand opening. Reference to John M Mason as owner/manager per the 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986 & 1987 Polk Laramie City Directories. In 1981, the 33rd Annual Wyoming Men's State Bowling Tournament was held here. Alice Snow and Ray Moe won the 1983 Masters-Novice Tournaments at both Pinnacle Bowl and Laramie Lanes. Mr. Mason took over operations at Bowlerama in Cheyenne starting in 1985 and ran both centers concurrently for two years before selling to the Perrin family. Reference to Glen K and Jo-Ellen Perrin as owners/managers per the 1988, 1989 & 1990 Polk Laramie City Directories. Reference to Glenn and JoEllen as owners/managers of Summit Lanes in 1990 per an advertisement in the 45th Annual Wyoming Women's State Bowling Tournament Book. In 1990, the 45th Annual Wyoming Women's State Bowling Tournament held the Doubles & Singles Event here in conjunction with the Team Event at Laramie Lanes. The Golden Flea Gallery took over at this location in the early 1990s after the bowling alley closed down. |
